Louis ShermanLouis Sherman joined the firm as a partner in August, 2014. Previously, Mr. Sherman had been a partner at Hofheimer Gartlir & Gross, LLP since 1988. His practice includes commercial real estate lending, representation of owners and developers of affordable housing, cooperative and condominium offerings, and office and retail leasing.

Examples of Mr. Sherman’s recent significant transactions are:

• representation of a lender on a $38 million refinancing of four Brooklyn multi-family buildings
• representation of a lender on a $54.6 million construction loan on a residential condominium project in New Rochelle
• assignment of a ground leasehold interest in Tribeca retail to a New York Stock Exchange real estate investment trust
• representation of the developer of a 99-unit condominium development in Brooklyn
• representation of the developer of a 30-unit condominium development above a Post Office property in Manhattan

Mr. Sherman is a member of the Mediation Panel for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Prior to his tenure at Hofheimer Gartlir & Gross, Mr. Sherman was a Special Deputy Attorney General in the New York State Department of Law.

He is a member of the New York State Bar Association (Sections of Real Property Law and Dispute Resolution) and the American Bar Association.
