Richard Klein, Esq.

After owning his own law firm for sixteen (16) years, Richard Klein joined the firm as a partner at the end of 2016. Richard manages the firm’s co-op and condominium board practice serving as counsel to approximately fifty (50) boards. Richard is also actively engaged in residential and commercial real estate transactions as well as general business matters.

Richard comes to the firm with vast experience representing not only co-op and condominium boards, but also handling residential and commercial real estate transactions. Due to his personal business interests, he has unique experience when it comes to restaurant leasing and has assisted numerous businesses in this regard. In addition, he is an experienced litigator handling cases involving real estate, commercial and co-op and condominium board matters.

Richard has spoken at conferences and seminars sponsored by Habitat Magazine and the Council of New York Cooperatives and Condominiums. He has spoken on various topics such as the myths and truths regarding various legal issues pertaining to the cooperative housing market. Richard has given several seminars sponsored by the Hospitality Industry Committee of the Foundation for Accounting Education regarding the legal issues raised when buying or selling a restaurant business, as well as legal issues that arise when negotiating a commercial lease for a restaurant business.

Richard has been interviewed in Sunday’s Real Estate section of The New York Times. Richard also was selected to contribute to the book: “Think I Need a Lawyer Now What?”. He was the “expert” attorney consultant for the book chapters on buying/selling a house, as well as starting a new business.

Outside of law, Richard continues to remain active in the real estate field by managing properties, serving on coop boards and being involved in other restaurant and business ventures.
